Meet the Team

Pauric McGearty

Co-Founder

Pauric is a passionate advocate for solar PV and renewable energy, boasting over 10 years of expertise in the field across Australia and Ireland. His interest and knowledge of solar is such that he and his colleague John Greene were able to build a successful business carrying out both domestic and commercial solar PV installations in Australia. This company went on to achieve phenomenal success in and around the Greater Perth area, but also in the North West of the country, where they continue to deliver projects for some of Australia’s largest resources and energy companies to this day. Pauric made the decision to return home to Cavan after 10 years in Australia. An electrician by trade, he received his first qualification in solar back in 2008 when he completed the CEC Solar PV Design and Installation Course. He has contributed his skills to various specialised energy companies in design, planning and procurement. With ÉireVolt Energy, Pauric feels the time is right to begin this journey, and with Darragh McArdle and Lee Cooney‘s know-how and skillsets, he is confident of having a strong team in place to offer solar PV solutions to the Irish commercial market.

Lee Cooney

Co-Founder

Lee has dedicated several years to specialising in solar panel installations throughout Ireland, amassing a wealth of knowledge in the renewable energy sector. Lee is an accomplished electrician who augmented his skillsets with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Automation, and further specialized in Solar PV systems. This unique combination of hands-on experience and academic knowledge empowers him to excel in diverse aspects of electrical/Automation and renewable energy . Lee’s impressive career includes contributions to electrical/Automation projects for global tech giants like Facebook, Microsoft, and Intel, before discovering his true passion in the solar installation sector. Over several years, he immersed himself in this specialised sector, gaining an in-depth understanding of solar energy systems, their design, installation, and maintenance. This dedication allowed him to accumulate a wealth of knowledge specific to the renewable energy industry, including the latest advancements in solar technology and sustainable energy practices.

 

Darragh McArdle

Co-Founder

Darragh boasts over a decade of specialised expertise in roofing services and currently serves as the Director of Cavan Roofing & Engineering. This esteemed company specialises in the design, fabrication, and installation of structural steel and cladding for the commercial, industrial, and agricultural sectors, making Darragh’s roofing knowledge a valuable asset to the ÉireVolt team. During the early stages of his career, Darragh focused primarily on constructing farm sheds before transitioning to the industrial sector. His portfolio includes successful completion of numerous cladding and roofing projects for government bodies such as the Department of Education, HSE, Teagasc, and the Local Enterprise Office. In addition to collaborating with a range of construction companies, Darragh has also worked on various supermarkets, including Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Home Bargains and Super Valu. Furthermore, Darragh has expertise working with waste processing plants such as Oxgen and Envirogrind, and he also possesses extensive experience working alongside solar panel installers on various projects.
